The image of Menino Jesus was removed from the Colva church by the Rector of Rachol Seminary, who claimed that the statue was discovered by a Jesuit priest. He not only took the image, but all the jewellery that adorned the image and the money from the treasury. However, a gold diamond ring, which adorned one of the Menino Jesus fingers, fell into the niche of the altar and remained there.
